Note:

  1. Internship means 8 hours of integrated clinical duties in which 2 weeks of evening and night shift duties are included.
  2. Internship should be carried out as 8 hour per day@ 48 hours per week.
  3. Student during internship will be supervised by nursing teachers.
  4. Fourth year final examination to be held only after completing internship.

Completion of three years GNM course will be followed by total of 26 weeks (6month) internship program. During the internship period the students would undergo planned, supervised and intensive practical experience. The experience is intended to help students to learn and give comprehensive care in different areas as well as to develop professional skills.

Internship experience assists to bridge the gap between the professional approach and academic knowledge. The initial stipulations from the point of view of the total education are: Internship is a major academic component in the total program.

  1. This requires 48 hours of work per week on any and all shifts as appropriate including time for case presentation, discussion, group teaching, conducting nursing studies.
  2. The practice for each intern will be planned according to the learning and registration requirements.
  3. Guidance will be provided in the promotion of professionalization in planning, delivery and evaluating patient care.
